The following is the second in our series of great Ontario day trips that can be had using the 2017 MapArt Ontario Road Atlas
Rockwood conservation area (located on page 32 4-C of the MapArt Ontario Road Atlas) is just outside of Guelph and offers a number of unique attractions and experiences for a day trip.
In addition to excellent hiking trails, camp sites and a river for canoeing and swimming, the park contains unique attractions such as the remains of a mill built in 1867, something you’re encouraged to touch and explore.
However, the main attraction to Rockwood are the geological features such as the “Giant’s Kettles” potholes, glacial bluffs and the series of 12 caves on the property that will keep visitors young and old interested.
Rockwood was a real hit for our family and we heartily recommend a visit this summer.
